The restyling of Centro Leonardo in Imola (near Bologna), developed by Design International with its historic partners Planning Ingegneria, calls for work on the interiors, external facades and entrances. The renovation of the entrances along via Giovanni Amendola, with enhanced street views, will be particularly visible. Seating areas with lounges near the main entrances will also be added.
The biggest transformation, however, will involve the interiors which, thanks to the complete restyling of the malls with new flooring, a new design with organically shaped false ceilings and reorganized courtyards, will give the center a new look. The food court will also be enhanced with new ceilings, as well as reconfigured seating areas and kiosks. A fresher, sustainable and young design, rendered with warm tones, wood and new lighting. There will also be play areas for kids, places for students to study and entertainment.
The lighting used in the different areas will be particularly noteworthy. During the day ample natural lighting, filtered through skylights located throughout the malls and the courtyards, will be used; in the evening, the new lighting system will highlight the soft, dynamic shapes of the new false ceilings and accent the elements characterizing the new mall. The current lighting used inside and outside the center will also be substituted which will noticeably improve energy efficiency, consistent with the ESG standards adhered to by both IGD and the designers engaged.
